The Easter weekend celebrations bring a four-day break, but it can be confusing to know when the holiday falls. We don’t even want to talk about Christmas, let alone Easter, but sometimes you just need to get those holidays in the diary. The four-day break offers a good chance to get some time away from work and if you plan your days off carefully around bank holidays then you could benefit from longer holidays. But when is it next year? And why do the dates change each year? Here’s all you need to know for Easter While many festivals are on fixed days, Easter is a movable feast and is usually celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon on or after March 21 because it is based on the lunar calendar.
Based on the paschal full moon, it was decided by the bishops that Easter Day would fall on the next full moon after the spring equinox. The paschal full moon was chosen because the date of Passover in the Jewish calendar, and the Last Supper Holy Thursday occurred on the Passover. Therefore, Easter is the Sunday after Passover.
But since the paschal full moon can be on different days in different time zones, it was decided that the full moon is always determined to be the 14th day of the lunar month. Even though the spring equinox can occur on March 20 the Church also fixes the spring equinox as March What’s On.

It seems Rockwell had a neighbor who started a disagreeable rumor about him. What can one do about a nasty gossip? Well, if you are a famous illustrator, you can paint a cover about it. It started with just a couple of people, then it just grew, leaving Rockwell in need of more models. Mary Rockwell is second and third in the third row, spreading the rumor via rotary phone.

My grandfather once said himself, “The Post is my best and only opportunity to express myself fully. With other illustration work he was forced to rely on and stay true to someone else’s story. Without the unique opportunity that The Saturday Evening Post afforded him for so many years, it could be argued that Norman Rockwell would not have evolved into the incomparable and beloved storyteller we know today.
Pop, as we called him, always wanted to become a great illustrator — he was driven from the moment he started sketching while his father read Charles Dickens to the family.

Mums and dads have shared their best post-lockdown days out. Family days out have changed a lot since lockdown , with almost every venue enforcing new rules. While some attractions have introduced measures which leave parents feeling comfortable, others have been less successful. That’s why we’ve been asking families in Bristol to share their recommendations for places they’ve felt safest.
All of the venue’s indoor play areas remain closed, and timed entry has been introduced to reduce the risk of crowds at the ticket office. Recommended for being highly ‘organised and feeling safe’, parents said this Birmingham attraction was a great day out. Enhanced cleaning regimes are in place, as well as reduced capacity and social distancing measures. Parents have to be careful when heading to this location, pick the wrong time and you could be faced with huge crowds.
But one parent recommended between 6pm to 9pm, when the beautiful stretch of coast is a lot quieter and youngsters can still enjoy a paddle. From half hourly arrival slots, to a strict one-way system, restricted sitting area and play spaces remaining closed. Parents say this spot has ‘loads of space’, which left them feeling extremely safe during their visit. The main house remains closed but the woodland play trail has now been re-opened.
Parents have been warned they can use the area at ‘their own risk’. One parent said: “There’s a lot to see there, a room full of motorcycles and you can walk inside a windmill.
